Managing a Turkish consumer claim from abroad

Managing a Turkish consumer claim from abroad. Practical preparation for a Turkish legal claim when you live abroad.

Identify the Turkish provider

Name the legal person on the agreement and the recipient of payment. A clinic brand, doctor and booking intermediary may be different parties. Describe where the service was booked and performed; foreign residence alone does not determine jurisdiction or applicable law.

Power of attorney and documents

Discuss the required scope of representation before arranging a power of attorney. Consular execution, a foreign notarial instrument, apostille or other authentication and translation depend on the document and destination authority. A website message does not file a formal claim. Keep originals and complete correspondence.

A practical file sequence

Start with a dated chronology, a numbered list of payments and the exact remedy requested. Send the contract, provider identity, complaints and replies. If a committee decision has been served, include the entire decision and evidence of service immediately; representation from abroad does not extend procedural deadlines.

Costs and participation

Request a written scope separating legal fees, court expenses, experts, translation and enforcement. Some stages may require personal participation or examination. A favourable decision and actual recovery are separate matters, especially if the provider has changed name or stopped trading.
