Property Disputes in Turkey for Foreign Buyers
Prepare the documents for non-delivery, disputed title transfer, defective property or an alleged misuse of a power of attorney.
Identify the transaction actually completed
Reservation, a preliminary agreement, payment, delivery and title registration are different stages. A payment receipt alone is not a title deed. Record the parcel, seller, contracting party and payment recipient. Keep any residence or citizenship objective separate from the property remedy you seek.
Match promises to evidence
For non-delivery or a different specification, compare the contract, project material, delivery date, payment schedule and amendments. Keep dated photographs and identify what each shows. Preserve notices, replies and subsequent agreements. Decide whether the aim is delivery, registration, a refund or damages; the same request does not fit every objective.
Check title and representation
Obtain the current register and relevant restrictions for legal review. A preliminary contract does not itself transfer ownership. If a representative acted, prepare the complete power of attorney and transaction records. Alleged forgery, excess of authority and breach of contract require different analysis. A criminal complaint does not itself correct the title register.
Separate jurisdiction, law and enforcement
A title claim and a contractual payment claim may require different analysis. Applicable law, international jurisdiction and the effect of a foreign judgment are distinct questions. If interim relief is considered, identify the concrete risk and supporting evidence. Finally, assess service and recovery separately from obtaining a judgment; neither an injunction nor payment can be guaranteed.
Questions
Will a criminal complaint put the property in my name?
No automatic transfer follows. Civil title or contract remedies must be assessed separately from the criminal investigation.
