A citizenship status message describes a stage in an administrative process. It does not establish approval, citizenship or a fixed date for completion. Identify your application route and keep the latest official status alongside the documents submitted.
Check the official application record
NVI provides an application-status screen using the application number and date of birth. If the number is missing, request it from the competent population and citizenship authority. A status screen cannot replace the full decision or the record of notification.
What does the decision stage mean?
The authority and decision procedure depend on the acquisition route under Law No. 5901. Exceptional acquisition is decided by the President after the statutory assessment. Reaching a decision stage is not a promise of approval; security checks and supplementary records may still affect the file.

Delay, refusal and legal assessment
There is no single completion period applicable to every citizenship file. Record the application, interview and document-delivery dates, then request written information about an unexplained delay. For a refusal, obtain the reasons and notification record so that the administrative remedy and court time limit can be assessed.
Costs and representation
Application service charges, translation, legalisation and professional fees are separate items. Use the official schedule for the application year and route. Representation must meet the relevant authorisation requirements; fingerprint or personal attendance requirements can still apply.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the decision stage take?
No universal period can be promised. The route, checks and completeness of the individual file affect the process.
Does a completed investigation guarantee citizenship?
No. The competent authority must issue its decision; the status message alone is insufficient.
General information. It does not replace an assessment of your individual case.
